Perilex stekker, stopcontact or aansluitsnoer: which 16 A Perilex items to stock for the Dutch market

Kitchen island with a hob connected by a 16 A Perilex cord set to a socket inside the island

Short answer: Dutch shops sort Perilex into three groups: the stekker (plug, haaks or recht), the stopcontact or wandcontactdoos (socket, inbouw or opbouw) and the aansluitsnoer (cord with moulded plug, 5×1.5 or 5×2.5 mm²). Glob-el supplies one 16 A model for each of these: ETM421S angled plug, ETM423S straight plug, ETM420P flush socket, ETM422P surface socket and ETM277S cord set, all for 230/400 V~, 3P+N+PE, to DIN 49445/49446. We do not make 25 A Perilex, couplers (contrastekkers) or extension leads.

Most of the demand is for the plug. The second-largest group of searches is about connecting it: perilex aansluiten (4,400) and perilex stekker aansluiten (1,600). That tells you what your counter staff are asked about every week.

All models share the same base data: 16 A, 230/400 V~, 50 Hz, IP20, halogen-free PC housing (ETM277S: PVC moulded enclosure), glow-wire tested to 650 / 850 °C (IEC 60695-2-11), working temperature −25 °C to +60 °C.

Haaks or recht: which plug should you stock?

Stock both; installers choose by the space around the socket. The angled plug (haaks, ETM421S) takes the cable out to the side. The straight plug (recht, ETM423S) takes the cable out at the back. Electrically the two are the same: both are rewirable, accept 1.5–2.5 mm² conductors of any wire type, and are covered by one product safety certificate (SE-S-2201015).

Inbouw or opbouw: which socket?

Inbouw (ETM420P) where there is a flush wall box, opbouw (ETM422P) where there is none. The flush socket needs a wall box. The surface socket mounts directly on the wall where there is no flush box. Both take 1.5–2.5 mm² conductors on Pozidriv screw terminals.

Which inbouwdoos does a flush Perilex socket need?

A flush box with 67 mm fixing centres (c-c). That is what the ETM420P specification sheet asks for. It is a different spacing from the 60 mm used on most switch and socket boxes, so check the fixing centres of the box your customers use before you list the socket. Why screw spacing and box spacing are different numbers is explained in Installation box spacing, hole size and depth.

5×1.5 or 5×2.5: which aansluitsnoer?

Dutch shops list both, and ETM277S is certified with both. The cord set is certified with three cord types, each in 5G1.5 and 5G2.5 mm²:

  • H05VV-F (PVC);
  • H05RR-F (rubber);
  • H07RN-F (rubber).

Which cross-section a cooker or hob needs is set by the appliance and its manual, not by the plug. Cord length is not part of the specification; agree it with us per article.

Can a Perilex plug be connected on two phases?

The plug and socket are the same either way: five contacts, L1, L2, L3, N and PE. How many phases are used depends on the group in the meter cupboard and on the appliance. That decision belongs to the installer, following the appliance manual and the installation rules. We do not publish connection instructions. For our pre-wired units (ETM424P, ETM689P-1), the conductors are colour-coded L1 brown, L2 black, L3 grey, N blue and PE green-yellow.

Which certificate covers the Netherlands?

For the Dutch standard NEN 1020-1, the cord set ETM277S is certified (certificate SE-S-2600782, standard sheet IX). The sockets and plugs are certified to IEC 60884-1 and the Swedish standard sheet SS 428 08 34; the surface socket ETM422P also to the Norwegian NEK 502, and the plugs ETM421S and ETM423S also to the German DIN VDE 0620. If your customers ask for NEN 1020-1 on the socket or the plug itself, tell us before listing. The certificate overview shows the scope and validity of each one.

Certificates are issued to Etman Electric (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., the manufacturer. Glob-el is part of Etman. For a full checklist of what to verify, see Qualifying a second source for 16 A Perilex.
